Suitable substrates

• Smooth or steel-troweled concrete (at least 28 days old)
• Cement and epoxy terrazzo
• Exterior-grade, sanded plywood
• High-moisture-rated, cement, self-leveling underlayments and patching compounds
• Primed, gypsum underlayments that meet the requirements for compressive strength according to ASTM F2419

Surface preparation
Even though time is of the essence in most jobs, all substrates must be properly prepared to accept a floor covering. This process will sometimes take longer than the actual flooring installation, but it’s one of the most crucial steps. Floors need to be structurally sound, clean, flat, and free from bond inhibitors such as paint, sealers, waxes, dirt and curing compounds.
