This course will outline the industry standards, guidelines and material types to prepare for the installation of tile and stone. Sean Leich will review the correct membranes, as well as crack- isolation, waterproofing and sound-reduction material choices, for proper installation. Attendees will also gain a better understanding of the varied types of bonding mortars, their purposes and how to ensure that the correct standards are specified. Grout types will be explored for their use and performance expectations.

Sean Leich

Sean Leich is an architectural representative for MAPEI Corporation, covering South Texas and Louisiana. He has a degree in construction science from Texas A&M University. Previous to his current role, Sean worked in residential construction and building-product sales. Since 2003, he has worked in concrete restoration, flooring and substrate preparation. Sean is on the board of CSI Houston, a member of CSI San Antonio/Austin and an AIA Allied member.
