Structural strenghtening.
The project that involved the transformation of the former Sümerbank Textile Factory to Abdullah Gül University has been one of the biggest structural strengthening projects in Turkey. Within the scope of the project, the factory, which was operational between 1933-1999 was transformed into AGÜ Sümer Campus that also included administrative facilities. As the first step, the reinforced concrete load bearing elements which will be strengthened have been examined and a check for section on the reinforcing rods has been carried out. Then, anti-corrosion cementitious mortar MAPEFER 1K has been applied on the reinforcement bars which were cleaned mechanically. Afterwards, the concrete repair has been done by using cementitious R4 structural repair mortar MAPEGROUT THIXOTROPIC E and epoxy based primer MAPEWRAP PRIMER 1 has been applied on the repaired reinforced concrete elements while strengthening. Epoxy adhesive MAPEWRAP 31 T has been applied on the sides of the load bearing elements in order to wrap with strengthening fabrics by dry system and the strengthening procedure has been completed by bonding unidirectional basalt fibre fabric MAPEWRAP B UNI-AX on the surfaces. |
