Presenter Jeff Johnson will discuss the basic chemistries that are used for adhesives that are involved with bonding resilient, carpet and wood flooring to common substrates. He will also discuss in detail new, emerging adhesive chemistries that are being brought to the market that provide unique properties that solve common installation problems. Specifically, Jeff will review the basic chemistry of flooring adhesives; high-moisture-resistant, water-based adhesives for LVT; modified saline-based adhesives for resilient flooring; and aerosol-based adhesives.
Sean Leich Jeff Johnson is the FCIS Business and Marketing Manager for MAPEI’s Floor Covering Installation Systems product line. He has more than 30 years of experience in floor-covering installation product development and marketing. With practical experience in construction and as an adhesive bench chemist, Jeff has a unique perspective on the materials that are used in the flooring-installation industry. As a bench chemist, he formulated water-based and reactive-type adhesives. In his current position, Jeff drives sales growth, product innovation and education for floor-covering installation products that are within the carpet, resilient and wood-flooring installation market segments. |
