mindful MATERIALS (mM) recently announced the official launch of three building industry groups, known as The Forums. MAPEI is a member of the Catalyst Manufacturers Forum. The Forums, represent leading owners and over 80 individuals from more than 40 leading companies across the manufacturing, architecture, design, engineering and construction industries.
The Forums bring together proven materials leaders in the building industry to find common ground, identify alignment opportunities, build shared resources and knowledge, and accelerate impact by sending a clear market signal. These groups offer participants a neutral, precompetitive space to navigate and solve shared challenges, and help to accelerate meaningful action by others in the industry.
The Design for Freedom movement brings industry leaders together to eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain, create true market transformation and build a more equitable future. With Design for Freedom, MAPEI is committed to work toward equitable supply chains; our corporate policies of supply chain practices conform to the Design for Freedom principles.
In partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), through the Better Climate Challenge, MAPEI has partnered with the DOE to reduce – portfolio-wide – GHG emissions (scope 1 & 2) by at least 50% and reduce energy intensity by 10% within 10 years.

Tile Council of North America’s Green Initiative Committee, created to sensitize North American buyers to the eco-sustainable qualities of ceramic tiles and to the industry’s commitment to safeguard the environment. MAPEI is a member of the Green Initiative Committee as well as of the ISO Technical Committee. The ISO Technical Committee, ISO/TC 189, develops standards for ceramic tiles and related installation materials including grouts, adhesives and membranes.
