Hotels completed worldwide with Mapei products offer high-quality standards whether for work or relaxation. From the Marriot Hotel in Croatia to the Westin Bar Mountain Resort in Canada, Mapei solutions ensure durability and high aesthetic impact.

Marriot Hotel – Dalmatia Tower Split (Croatia)

The Dalmatia Tower is the tallest building in Croatia, with 27 floors above ground level and an overall height of 135 m. It houses a hotel of the Marriot chain which occupies the 17^th floor upwards, while the lower floors are reserved for office space. The floors in the bathrooms, bedrooms, wellness area and on the evacuation staircase were renovated by installing large format porcelain tiles with KERAFLEX EXTRA S1 ZERO* cementitious adhesive with very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC). The joints were grouted with KERACOLOR FF cementitious mortar mixed with FUGOLASTIC polymer admixture. In the bathrooms and wellness area, on the other hand, KERAPOXY EASY DESIGN decorative grout was chosen for the joints. The expansion joints were sealed with MAPESIL AC.

Dolomitengolf Resort Lavant (Austria)

The Dolomitengolf Resort in Lavant offers a 36-hole course and a newly renovated four-star hotel with an indoor pool, fitness center, 29 new suites, 49 rooms, restaurant, wellness area and bar. Mapei Austria GmbH contributed to the works by supplying PRIMER G for the treatment of substrates prior to the installation of porcelain tiles on interior walls and floors and in the swimming pool with KERAFLEX MAXI S1 ZERO* adhesive and ceramic tiles in the kitchen and service rooms with ADESILEX P9. Porcelain tiles were bonded on approximately 600 m² of façades with the KERABOND+ISOLASTIC adhesive system. Tile joints in the ceramic coverings were grouted with ULTRACOLOR PLUS* mortar in bathrooms and swimming pools while KERACOLOR FF grout was used for joints on the stairs and entrance floors.

RMH Hotel Raffaello Modena (Italy)

The RMH Modena Raffaello hotel on the outskirts of Modena (Central Italy) has been completely refurbished. Mapei supplied solutions for works on various part of the hotel: from repairs to concrete to structural strengthening, and from the installation of ceramic tiles and resilient flooring to the renovation of the façade and wall coatings in interiors.

Going into detail, an external thermal insulation system was applied using a specific cycle in line with the project specifications in terms of maximum impact strength and resistance to aggressive biological agents: 4,000 m²of rockwool insulation was installed using MAPETHERM AR1 GG bonding and levelling mortar and MAPETHERM FLEX RP 1.5 m elastic skimming mortar, then finished off with ELASTOCOLOR TONACHINO PLUS elastomeric coating and SILANCOLOR AC PAINT PLUS acrylic-siloxane paint.

Mapei also supplied solutions for the interiors to suit the various types of environment. DURSILITE and DURSILITE MATT washable and breathable water paints were used for the guest rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, while MAPECOAT ACT enamel wall paints were used for the gym and areas around the gym.

Grand Hotel Gallia Milano Marittima (Italy)

Around forty guest rooms in the Grand Hotel Gallia were completely refurbished with new furnishings, bathroom fittings, floor and wall coverings and plant equipment. For these areas, engineered oak flooring was installed with ULTRABOND P902 2K two-component epoxy-polyurethane adhesive over a surface area of more than 400 m².

In 12 of the rooms, the Suites and the Deluxe rooms, ceramic and mosaic tiles from were installed on the floors and walls. The substrates in the multifunction showers were firstly waterproofed with MAPELASTIC mortar and then covered with mosaic tiles using ULTRALITE S2 QUICK cementitious adhesive with rapid setting and hydration to complete work as quickly as possible. The same adhesive was also used to install ceramic tiles on floors and walls. ULTRACOLOR PLUS cementitious mortar in its beige shade was then used to grout the joints in both types of tiles.

Westin Bar Mountain Resort and Spa Clubhouse, Victoria (Canada)

Located in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, the Westin Bar Mountain Resort and Spa Clubhouse is a luxury hotel that recently changed management. The new owners decided to change the look of the lobby and entrance and to enlarge the restaurant, choosing large format ceramic tiles and natural stone slabs.

Mapei Canada Inc, the Group's Canadian subsidiary, supplied products for various works: from concrete repair (PLANICRETE AC, PLANITOX X) to the preparation of substrates (TOPCEM PREMIX, PLANISLOPE RS, PRIMER L, NOVOPLAN 2 PLUS, MAPEGUARD UM), from the installation of ceramic tiles in indoors (ULTRAFLEX LFT, TYPE 1) and outdoors (KERABOND, KERALASTIC SYSTEM, ULTRACOLOR PLUS FA, MAPESIL T PLUS) to the installation of textile flooring (ULTRABOND ECO 185). All the above-mentioned products are distributed in Canada by Mapei Canada Inc.
