Swimming pool with a view of the city

A pool was covered with orange mosaics on the roof of the nhow hotel in Milan. Adhesive, grout and cleaner supplied by Mapei

The rooftop pool at Milan's nhow Hotel, covered with orange mosaic tiles, offers a striking city view. Mapei provided the adhesive, grout, and cleaner to ensure a high-quality installation, enhancing the hotel's modern design.

The nhow Hotel in Via Tortona in Milan is close to the Navigli canal system, in an area highly appreciated by visitors interested in design and culture. In the building designed by Matteo Thun the atmosphere is welcoming and cosmopolitan: for the guests there are 246 rooms and suites with eclectic and colourful furnishings. The hotel also has a restaurant, a lounge-bar designed by the industrial designer Karim Rashid, a large atrium where exhibitions and events are held, a fitness area, a Turkish bath and a conference hall.

On the panoramic terrace situated on the roof of the hotel it is also possible for guests to relax while sipping a cocktail in the lounge-bar or the solarium or take a dip in the recently installed Vertigo swimming pool. Covered with orange glass mosaics, this pool provides an area of relaxation in exclusive surroundings.

Mapei supplied the products to install the mosaic tiles in the pool: the product chosen to bond the tiles was ULTRABOND EP 2K two-component, reactive adhesive which was chosen due to its improved workability, excellent durability and resistance to ageing. The joints were grouted with KERAPOXY EASY DESIGN decorative epoxy grout which is especially suitable for decorative coverings in environments with an high aesthetic value.

The surfaces were cleaned with ULTRACARE KERAPOXY CLEANER, a ready to use cleaning solution for removing residues of epoxy grouts with fully offset CO₂ emissions*.

The glass mosaic tiles in the pool were installed with ULTRABOND EP 2K adhesive. Joints were grouted with KERAPOXY EASY DESIGN epoxy grout.
