Application steps

1
Concrete substrate
2
Uncoupling layer
3
Screed
Position a series of levelling guides, spread the mix, carefully compact the mix and float-finish the surface.
4
Ready-to-use waterproofer
Apply two layers of product with a trowel, roller or brush to form a total thickness of at least 0.8 mm.
5
Rubber tape
Apply the elastic tape for fillet joints on the first layer of MAPEGUM WPS while still fresh.
6
Adhesive
Apply the adhesive on the substrate with a notched trowel suitable for the type and format of the tiles to ensure the back of the tiles is sufficiently wetted. Use the double-buttering method where specified by UNI 11493-1. While installing the tiles use levelling systems from the MapeLevel line to maintain the correct width for the grouts and to reduce lippage between adjacent tiles.
7
Ceramic tiles
8
Grout
Once the adhesive has set, carefully fill the grouts to their full depth using a rubber trowel without leaving gaps or steps. After filling the grouts with epoxy mortar clean the surface while the mortar is still wet fresh with a cellulose sponge dipped in water and a Scotch-Brite® pad where required. Carry out any final cleaning required using UltraCare Kerapoxy Cleaner.
9
Sealant
Seal the perimeter and expansion joints after inserting Mapefoam to set the correct depth and then finish off the surface of the sealant with UltraCare Smooth Silicone.
10
Plasterboard
11
Adhesive
Apply the adhesive on the substrate with a notched trowel suitable for the type and format of the tiles to ensure the back of the tiles is sufficiently wetted. Use the double-buttering method where specified in UNI 11493-1. While installing the tiles use levelling systems from the MapeLevel line to maintain the correct width for the grouts and to reduce lippage between adjacent tiles.

14
Sealant
Seal fillets between sanitary ware and ceramic tiles after inserting Mapefoam to set the correct depth. Finish off the surface of the sealant with UltraCare Smooth Silicone.
