New solutions for every living need
Mapei, leading company in the building chemicals sector, is taking part in the 2024 edition of Cersaie, the most important international event dedicated to ceramics, bathroom furnishings, design and architecture. The event held in Bologna from 23rd to 27th September, once again enhancing its position as a reference point for professionals, is a must-attend opportunity to discover the latest trends, innovations and technologies in contemporary construction.
The theme of the forty-first edition, A space for architectural design, explores the interaction between people and architectural space, highlighting the importance of living environments, both private and public, and how they affect people's well-being. Hence the importance of designing healthy and sustainable spaces that, combined with aesthetics and functionality, create environments that meet contemporary living needs.
In line with this vision, Mapei presents at Cersaie innovative solutions designed to meet the challenges of modern construction. Particular attention is paid to sustainability, a theme that runs through all the novelties on show, highlight of complete zero systems1, with fully offset CO₂ emissions, for the construction of the main residential environments: the shower system for waterproofing and installing ceramic tiles in bathrooms and wet areas, the terrace system for waterproofing and installing ceramic tiles on new balconies and terraces, the living room for installing ceramic tiles on existing cracked flooring using an uncoupling, anti-fracture and waterproofing membrane, and the system for installing ceramic tiles for outdoor walkways.
The Mapei booth therefore becomes a meeting place for professionals, to present products developed to improve the quality of living spaces, with a focus on durability and reduced environmental impact.

At stand A2, in Hall 25, Mapei presents its technologies and complete systems for installing ceramic tiles to all professionals, while its technicians are available to guide visitors through the Mapei world, answering all their questions and suggesting the most suitable solution for every need. Stand A8 in Hall 32 is dedicated to installers and the solutions developed to simplify and improve their work. In the adjacent area, Profilpas - a Mapei Group company - proposes drainage solutions for balconies and terraces, as well as decors for skirting boards customisation and outdoor raised floors supports.
Mapei's Planitex range, which has been successfully present on the German market and in North America for many years, finally arrives also in Italy with two new anhydrite-based self-levelling products, specifically developed and dedicated to the needs of this market: Planitex S and Planitex L. The Planitex range includes and shows products based on calcium sulphate, characterised by easy pump application and excellent self-levelling, as well as a high density, good mechanical strength and a very compact and smooth surface that can be easily sanded if necessary. Their high thermal conductivity makes them particularly suitable for saturating traditional heating-cooling systems with low thermal inertia or low thickness. Planitex S and Planitex L are suitable for ceramic tiles, natural stone, resilient flooring, pre-finished wood and raised floors.
Mapei's Mapeheat system with nVent Raychem technology is now introduced in Italy, at Cersaie. It is a quick and complete solution for electric underfloor heating, ideal for commercial and residential applications. The system, which is quick and easy to install, offers advantages in terms of energy savings. The reduced thickness and the waterproofing and anti-fracture properties make it suitable for all environments, both in new constructions and renovations, such as living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, spas. The system includes: Mapeheat Membrane Maxi and Mapeheat Cable, heating cables available in different sizes, used in combination with nVent Raychem thermostats. The low-thickness membrane allows easy insertion of heating cables in various diameters and also gives the system uncoupling, anti-fracture and waterproofing properties. The cables provide comfortable radiant heat and are designed for easy and safe installation thanks to the EMF-free design. Mapeheat supports a wide range of floor finishes, such as ceramics, stone, wood, resilient flooring and LVT, laminate flooring.
On the occasion of Cersaie 2024, Mapei is extending its Zero Line, the range of fully CO₂-offset products, with two new solutions: Monolastic Turbo Zero and Mapelastic AquaDefense Zero. Monolastic Turbo Zero is a quick-setting, one-component cementitious mortar which is easy to apply and ideal for work requiring reduced working time. Mapelastic AquaDefense Zero is a ready-to-use liquid membrane, perfect for waterproofing wet areas such as bathrooms, showers, laundries and saunas, as well as balconies and terraces, to be applied prior to the installation of coatings. Both products offer high performance and durability, in line with Mapei's commitment to an increasingly environmentally friendly building future.
Mapei's UltraCare range is enriched with two new products for finishing and protecting surfaces. UltraCare Finish Lucida and UltraCare Finish Opaca offer long-lasting protection and a flawless appearance on all floors in terracotta, stone, unpolished marble, recomposed marble, grits and similar indoor or outdoor covered floors, with glossy or matt finishes according to requirements. The UltraCare range continues to grow, offering practical and innovative solutions for cleaning, protecting, maintaining and, with these new products, also finishing all types of surfaces.
At Cersaie Mapei also presents the new 1.5 kg packaging of Kerapoxy Easy Design, the easy-to-apply and easy-to-clean two-component epoxy grout ideal for grouting ceramic tiles and glass mosaics. In addition to the traditional 3 kg drum, a smaller, cheaper format is now available: with the increasing use of large-format tiles, less grout is needed to finish the job and to avoid waste, Mapei has decided to introduce this new pack, thus responding to market needs.
There is also plenty of space for the new products from Profilpas, a Mapei Group company specialising in the production of profiles for flooring, wall coverings and installation accessories. Among the new proposals, the range of special Mapei Color finishes stands out, created to match the colours of the Mapei grouts, ensuring chromatic continuity between profile and grout. In addition, the range of PP Level Duo Maxi, adjustable supports for external raised floors has also been extended thanks to the addition of new installation accessories.
An important new development in PDS digital printing was also shown. The Alcrom Plus films for PVC skirtings and aluminium profiles are now manufactured with a new technology that uses inks specifically designed to reproduce wood, marble, stone, ceramic and other specific decorations, making it possible to offer customisations that are extremely faithful to the original pattern. Finally, there is the new Protec CPCVD/30 drainage profile for terraces and balconies, characterised by a reduced height that makes it ideal for renovations where there are perimeter railings.

At Cersaie, Rachele will present a unique project that goes beyond the world of motorsport: Mapei Home Makeover. Through a series of 90-second social pills, she will tell the story of how she renovated her home in a simple and accessible way, thanks to Mapei solutions and expert advice.
