Today marks the opening of the XXVIII National Congress - Conference & Exhibition organised by the Italian Chemical Society, of which Mapei is Silver Sponsor: the most important chemistry event in Italy, staged from 26th to 30th August at the Allianz MiCo Congress Centre in Milan.
The Italian Chemical Society, founded in 1909, today has over 4,600 members, whose common objective is to promote the study and progress of chemistry and its applications for cultural development, the wellbeing of mankind and the protection of the environment.
The event, which takes place every three years, will be entitled “Elements of Chemistry of the Future” and will be a meeting point for more than 2,500 participants from academia, universities, research institutes, public administration, business and the chemical industry.
At booth 123, Mapei experts will be available to share the company's know-how gained over the years through the development of chemical products for the building industry, providing expertise and advice to all professionals in the sector.
Quality and specialisation, together with continuous research aimed at innovation and sustainability, allow the Italian multinational company to formulate in its laboratories increasingly cutting-edge and durable solutions capable of solving the main problems related to chemistry, such as cement.
Among the week's events, a workshop organised by Federchimica entitled “Industry focus - Sustainability: key factors for the competitiveness of the chemical industry” will be held on Tuesday 27th August at 2.30 pm. Mikaela Decio, Corporate Environmental Sustainability Manager of Mapei, will take the floor with a speech focusing on decarbonisation entitled “Sustainable and Innovative Products for New Building Solutions". Moderated by Massimo Polidoro, journalist and science communicator, the event will focus on the current challenges of modern industrial chemistry and possible solutions, the progress of the sector, and key issues such as the circular economy, energy and process sustainability.
The congress represents a significant opportunity to discuss together the key role of chemistry in the daily challenges made by sustainable development and to promote the importance of research combined with environmental sustainability. All distinctive elements that have been the formula of Mapei's DNA for over 85 years.
