Mapei has been reconfirmed as one of the 350 Italian companies "Champions of Sustainability 2024/25" according to the ranking of the German Institute of Quality (ITQF) and its Media Partner La Repubblica Affari&Finanza. An acknowledgement that affirms the company's real commitment towards increasingly sustainable building, to the benefit of the planet and the community in which it operates.
Among the 2,150 Italian companies examined, the study rewarded the 350 that operate in a particularly sustainable way from an environmental, economic and social point of view. Mapei, for the second time in a row, came first in the chemical section of the ranking. The survey is based on an anonymous online survey that collected more than 20,000 opinions from employees of companies in Italy, evaluating 16 different criteria regarding sustainability in the three dimensions (economic, social and environmental) of the individual company. The research aims to assess a company's sustainable approach from an internal point of view through the direct experience of its employees.
Mapei is aware of its importance for the development of communities and the territory. It is committed every day to offering quality, durable and cutting-edge solutions for sustainable building. With responsibility and real choices, Mapei Research and Development studies and formulates products with low environmental impact with the aim of safeguarding the Planet and the wellbeing of people, guaranteeing safety and durability over time.
In addition, residual GHG (Green House Gases) emissions generated during the production of Zero Line products are offset through the purchase of certified carbon credits to support forest protection and biodiversity conservation projects. The
Mapei Zero Line currently includes
a wide range of products with fully offset CO2 emissions*. Started more than ten years ago with an adhesive for ceramics, today it includes a wide range of solutions for installing ceramics, waterproofers, products for construction, strengthening and restoration, cleaners and paints.
For Mapei, sustainability is a value that synergistically integrates the environmental, social and economic dimensions, in the conviction that profit should go hand in hand with ethics, respect for people and the creation of value for the territory.
* CO2 emissions measured throughout the life cycle of products from the Zero line in 2024 using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, verified and certified with EPDs, have been offset through the acquisition of certified carbon credits in support of forestry protection projects.
