As a member of the new board of directors of the Italian association for standardization, he will support its President in pursuing its goals from 2021-2024
As part of procedures to renew the governance bodies of UNI (the Italian national association for drawing up, publishing and divulging technical rules and standards in industry, commerce and the services sector), a new board of directors was elected to serve alongside President Giuseppe Rossi during his period in office from 2021-2024.
Santino Giglio, Mapei’s Corporate Quality System Manager, was elected as one of the 12 members of the board.
After gaining experience working in the petrochemical industry in the fields of management systems, auditing and change management at various levels, Santino Giglio has been the Mapei Group’s corporate quality system manager since 2018. Mapei experts have always been involved in and actively contributed to UNI’s various technical committees.
“Drawing on the expertise I have gained in this field - so Mr Giglio announced -, I will help the association achieve its goal of becoming more smooth-running and efficient, paying due heed to any impact on businesses and the nation as a whole”.
Mapei has always had great faith in the economic as well as the technical importance of standards and, through the person of Giorgio Squinzi, contributed to European-wide operations in the field of technical standardization by taking part in CEN (European Committee for Standardization) TC 67 WG 3 “Adhesives for tiles and grouting materials”.
