Facilities Engineer - Mechanical

Job description

 

A vacancy has arisen at Mapei (UK) Ltd for the role of Facilities Engineer, Mechanical.  This is a new role.  This role will be based in Halesowen.

This role will be responsible for dock levellers, loading bay equipment including roller shutters, high speed, sectionals, gates, barriers and overhead doors. General buildings maintenance, internal and external to ensure the upkeep and appearance of our site and other sites to ensure facilities are maintained to a high level. Liaise with facilities contractors. Supervisory of Apprentices team.

 

The ideal candidate will be a capable individual who is highly motivated, has excellent communication skills, highly organized, articulate and able to work under pressure whilst being able to prioritize workloads.  They will be able to undertake all duties as listed in the job description, essential and desirable criteria as below.  They will be able to support and assist apprentices, acting as mentor and teacher as and when required.


Essential knowledge/skills:  
    • At least 3 years recent experience of working within Facilities Maintenance or

    • Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

    • Good level of Excel, with a thorough knowledge of Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

    • Must have a strong work ethic and be reliable

    • Troubleshoot/Diagnose faults Mechanically (or electrically will be benefit) on a wide variety of equipment using drawings/schematics/PC

    • IPAF / PASMA and forklift truck qualifications (full training will be provided)

    • Must be eligible to work in the UK. Full clean and valid driving licence.


     


    Desirable:

    • Educated to HNC, (or HND or degree Level)

    • Qualifications to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/ Engineering).

    • IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations (will be beneficial).

    • A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatics systems and principles.

    • At least 3 years Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or similar.

    • Welding and fabrication qualifications/experience advantageous.

    • Experience in industrial doors and loading bay system.

     



    The hours of work will be 37.5 hours a week, 0800-1630 Monday to Friday.  A full job description and person specification is available.
