Building Green: Mapei’s Zero Line Grows

Mapei has extended its Zero Line of carbon offset products with the introduction of two new products from its Building Line.  They include Mapelastic Guard Zero - a two-component, flexible cementitious coating which protects large concrete structures against aggressive atmospheric agents and Planitop 210 Zero – a water-repellent, cementitious skimming mortar with a fine, natural finish for concrete and plastic coatings.  Both products also benefit from very low VOC EMICODE: EC1 R Plus certification, providing contractors and specifiers with safe, durable, high-performance products with CO₂ fully offset in the entire life cycle.

*The Zero Line portfolio demonstrates Mapei’s commitment to the planet, to people and to biodiversity. *CO₂ emissions - measured throughout the life cycle of products from the Zero line in 2024 using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, verified and certified with EPDs - have been offset through reforestation projects and protection of biodiversity.

Mapei’s full portfolio of construction products includes sustainable and durable solutions for a vast range of applications, from protecting reinforcement rods and repairing surfaces and structures, to anchoring applications using thixotropic, hi-flow mortars with normal-set or rapid-set properties.  Other recent introductions to the Zero Line include: Mapelastic Zero elastic waterproofing cementitious mortar, Silancolor Pittura Zero – a silicate based, vapour-permeable protective paint system and Elastocolor Pittura Zero elastomeric paint, for crack-bridging protection.
