Mapei to present full system solutions at Spatex 2023

Mapei will be returning to Spatex 2023 in January with a showcase of its specification at The Sandwell Aquatic Centre, along with presentation of full system solutions for the wet leisure industry. 

Mapei offers products for every stage of leisure projects as demonstrated recently in Sandwell. Designed by Robert Limbrick Architects, The Sandwell Aquatic Centre in Smethwick, near Birmingham, was the venue for one of the largest international sporting events last year. Mapei systems were used to complete an extensive waterproofing and tiling project throughout three pool areas, changing room and the atrium.  The project was completed by P. Plunkett Tiling Contractors Ltd for main contractor, The Wates Group, with over 35 tile designs supplied by Spectile and CTD.  The Spatex showcase will include a visual representation of Mapei’s involvement.

Mapei’s product presentation will focus on system build ups from foundation to finish: structural waterproofing solutions, watertight concrete, render and screed through to high performance adhesives, grouts, sealants and aftercare solutions. Two of Mapei’s latest product ranges include decorative installation and maintenance. The decorative range - Kerapoxy Easy Design - is an epoxy tile grout offered in 41 shades.  It combines a host of practical and safety features that are ideal for spa and swimming pool environments, being very low VOC, acid-resistant and non-absorbent, as well as anti-bacterial and mould-resistant. The product also provides easy application, easy cleaning, a smooth finish and colour stability.   Meanwhile, for maintenance, Mapei will present its UltraCare range -  complete cleaning, protection and maintenance solutions for all types of tiles – from porcelain and ceramics, to natural stone mosaics.  Each formulation is tailored to a tile’s individual characteristics and provides a safe and easy-to-use solution for the most diverse sites, from new installations, to the deep cleaning and renovation of existing surfaces.  

Spatex – the pool, spa and wellness show – will run from Tuesday 31 January to Thursday 2 February at Coventry Building Society Arena. Mapei will be exhibiting at Stand no. C37.
