The Italian multinational is boosting its business operations in France.
Milan, 12th January 2022 – In accordance with its strategy of internationalisation and constant growth, Mapei - a leading group in the realm of chemical products for the building industry - has taken over (through its subsidiary Mapei France) Resipoly Chrysor, a leading French manufacturer of synthetic resins, and its subsidiary Eurosyntec.
Founded in 1958, Resipoly designs, manufactures and markets innovative synthetic resin-based products for flooring, waterproofing and protecting surfaces in the building, industrial, infrastructure, sports and leisure sectors. In contrast, the subsidiary Eurosyntec specialises in the application of these materials. The French Group, which employs around 100 people at 3 manufacturing plants, recorded revenue of 22 million euros in 2021.
This will allow Mapei to strengthen its presence in France, where it has been operating since 1989 through 3 production sites (Toulouse Saint-Alban, Montgru Saint-Hilaire near Paris and Lyon St-Vulbas), a Research & Development laboratory and (since 2019) Mapei World Paris, a technical consultancy and training facility in the very heart of Paris. Employing over 300 staff, Mapei France’s revenue hit €116 million in 2021.
Veronica Squinzi, CEO of Mapei, stated that: "This acquisition not only strengthens Mapei's operations on such an important market as France, it also confirms the company's vocation for internationalisation and its desire to continue to grow through targeted acquisitions that will make us stronger in terms of markets and products".
Marco Squinzi, CEO of Mapei, added that: "By diversifying our business operations, we can offer a full range of products and services on the market for resins, thereby making our brand more appealing to decision-makers in the building industry. This operation will also allow us to improve the services we offer our customers and local partners by boosting our industrial structures, services and logistics through synergies with our partner companies".
