Mapei's long-standing partnership with the UCI dates back to 2008, with its passion for the sport beginning with Rodolfo Squinzi - Mapei’s founder and former elite cyclist. This passion continued with Rodolfo’s son, Giorgio Squinzi, who passed away in 2019, and today with his grandchildren, Marco and Veronica Squinzi. On the track, the company’s wide and varied catalogue of prestigious sports specifications also includes Emirates Arena, Glasgow – home of the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, which was constructed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and will play host to the track and para-cycling track competitions.

Mapei is delighted to once again be supporting the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), as an Official Partner of the inaugural edition of 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
Taking place every four years, the 2023 event comes home to Scotland this summer - from 3 to 13 August. For the first time it will bring together over 8,000 amateur and elite cyclists - from 13 different disciplines and at least 120 countries - and will crown over 190 UCI World Champions. With over one million spectators - and a global TV audience in excess of one billion - the Championships will be one of the Top 10 watched sporting events on the planet.
The Mapei logo will be displayed at all of the championship venues and along the road race and time trial routes on banners, panels and arches, and also as a backdrop at prize-giving ceremonies, press conferences and interviews. Mapei will also be visible on all communications materials. The Mapei Motorhome will be available throughout the entire championship, and there will also be Hospitality Areas at several of the event venues to welcome guests to watch a range of disciplines and races in exclusive locations.

“I am delighted that our Official Partner, Mapei, has joined the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. The Italian company was already intrinsic to the UCI Road World Championships, our flagship annual event, and I am thrilled it is now also supporting the biggest cycling event ever organised,” said UCI President David Lappartient.
“As we continue our long and successful partnership with the UCI, we wanted to confirm our support for this historic edition of the UCI Cycling World Championships, which for the first time will celebrate every aspect of cycling. This wonderful sport continues to epitomise values such as commitment, determination, perseverance and teamwork that also lie at the very foundations of our company,” said Mapei CEO, Veronica Squinzi.
The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships “will stand out for their contribution to sustainability, the involvement of the public in the event, the development of active mobility, innovation, as well as health and well-being.”
