Milan, 26^th September 2022 - Mapesil AC, the iconic elastic sealant created to go alongside Mapei grouts in 58 colours, has gone green. Mapesil AC Eco is here: the first Mapei sealant from a production process driven by certified renewable energy sources.

All the advantages of Mapesil technology remain the same: high elasticity, resistance and durability, coupled with perfect adhesion and an extensive colour range. And in addition to these properties are its green credentials. Apart from a production process without the use of fossil sources, the new sealant comes in a cartridge made from 50% recycled plastic.

Thanks to these two characteristics Mapesil AC Eco emits 25% less CO₂ into the atmosphere compared with traditional acetic silicone sealant.

The introduction of this new product, that combines quality with low environmental impact, marks another important stage in the journey undertaken by Mapei many years ago towards an increasingly sustainable building industry.
