Mapei's fantastic range of Mapecoat TNS Sports and Urban coating systems have been used to upgrade many recreational spaces NZ wide over the years and a great recent example of this is the Naval Point promenade walkway at Lyttleton Harbour.
Mapei's fantastic range of Mapecoat TNS Sports and Urban coating systems have been used to upgrade many recreational spaces NZ wide over the years and a great recent example of this is the Naval Point promenade walkway at Lyttleton Harbour. The Christchurch city council recently commissioned a rejuvenation of the area in preparation for the SailGP event due in March 2023. SailGP is an international sailing competition using high performance F50 foiling catamarans, where teams compete across a season of multiple grand prix events around the world. Part of this rejuvenation process was creating a protective and trafficable coating incorporating a local Iwi based design along the Naval Point promenade walkway - an area where spectators can gather and watch the racing from close proximity. The Mapecoat TNS Extreme was selected as the ideal solution for this area due to having excellent physical and mechanical properties, allowing it to protect high-traffic surfaces used by pedestrians, cycles and vehicles alike. The TNS Extreme has excellent UV resistance and can be created in any colour as demonstrated in the deep blue and bright yellow Iwi design that now enhances the 2,000m² promenade walkway. The project was expertly installed by Mapecoat trained applicators Parklife, who made the most of the diverse range of Mapecoat TNS products to create this amazing space. |
