What was Mapei’s Role?
The client decided to change the design of the already-built structure. Parking floors for the residences part of the project had a height of more than 7m and could be redesigned into two floors, accommodating a car park at the lower level and entertainment, food & beverage, and shops at the higher level. Construction of the new slab increased the initial load, so the existing slab and columns required structural strengthening.
With our existing line of products, we could enhance the load-carrying capacity for both slab and columns and provide a customized solution to solve this complex project challenge.

MAPEI supplied all the concrete strengthening solutions, including:
• CFRP Laminate strips (CARBOPLATE E170/100/1,4 W) for the slabs strengthening, with a total of 1,100 LM along with the structural adhesive (ADESILEX PG2 TG)
• CFRP wrapping (MAPEWRAP C UNI-AX 600/50) for the columns strengthening with a total of 2,000 LM along with the epoxy impregnator (MAPEWRAP 31).
• Micro concrete (MAPEGROUT ME05) for column jacketing and pure epoxy anchoring (MAPEFIX EP585).
• Epoxy grout for post-tension tendon lock (PLANIGROUT 300 ME).
