Address Beach Resort

Named the world's tallest infinity pool inside a building, the rooftop bathing spot at the newly opened Address Beach Resort, Dubai, is a vertiginous 293.906 meters high. That's about nine-tenths as tall as the Eiffel Tower. Sitting on the hotel's 77th floor, the massive pool is about 311 feet long and 54 feet wide — almost double the amount of an Olympic-sized pool. It is divided into a 75m-long swimmable zone, a wet sunbed area, and a sunken pond water feature. It offers views across Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, Dubai Marina, and the Burj Al Arab. The Address Infinity Pool is a Guinness World's Record holder, a pool at the highest altitude inside a building.

What was Mapei’s Role?

Mapei had provided on-site inspection, training, and troubleshooting. Since this is the highest suspended pool in any resort in the world, the most critical point was to make the swimming pool waterproof. And ensure absolute zero leakages in the future, which would affect the main building structure and finishes underneath.

Mapei products application activity was completed in 5 months. We did regular inspections once or twice a month, from waterproofing and swimming pool repair applications to the final tile grout application. Mapei has assisted with detailing of the waterproofing’s critical points such as membrane termination, detailing, and the treatment of the expansions joints.

Swimming pool repair was done using: MAPEFILL GP ME, MAPEGROUT RAPIDO, MAPEPROOF SWELL and ADESILEX PG4 on all the pipe penetrations and cold joints. MAPELASTIC SMART, MAPETEX SEL, IDROSTOP MASTIC, IDROSTOP 10, MAPEBAND TPE 170 and ADESILEX PG4 formed the waterprooofing system for the pool. Fixing of the tiles were done using ADESILEX P9 and KERAPOXY for the grouting.
