Creating an Impression with Mapei- Presidential Palace Abu Dhabi

Set on a 150 hectare site on the Corniche in Abu Dhabi, the new Presidential Palace is a sight to behold. The Vice President's office, the parliament, and other government buildings are all located here. A public majlis, mosque, staff and military housing, service compound, and several gatehouses and watchtowers are among the peripheral buildings that cover a 23,000 m2 property. The Presidential Palace is a work of art with a unique Arabic design that was built with the best materials and finishes available. The Presidential Palace serves as the government of the United Arab Emirates' official headquarters. 

Mapei’s Role in developing the Presidential Palace

Mapei was excited to add Presidential Palace to our lengthy list of renowned and prominent Emirati projects because it was one of the largest and architecturally high-end complexes created in the city. 

The products that went into the development of this palace are:

1. ADESILEX P9- a high performance cementitious adhesive with no vertical slip and extended open time
2. ULTRACOLOR PLUS- a high-performance, anti-efflorescence, quick-setting and drying polymer-modified mortar with  water-repellent DropEffect® and mould-resistant BioBlock® technology for grouting joints 2 to 20 mm wide for the bathrooms and the back of house areas
3. MAPELASTIC SMART- this two-component high-flexibility cementitious mortar (with crack-bridging 2 mm), was applied by trowel or with a roller, for the waterproofing of balconies, basins, swimming pools and wet areas
4. MAPETEX SEL- a non-woven, macro-holed polypropylene fabric for reinforcing waterproofing membranes.

Mapei was able to carry out this challenging project with utmost ease and comfort due to its meticulousness, hard work, and absolute commitment.
