The Dubai Media Office

The Dubai Media Office (GDMO) in conjunction with local government departments has been responsible for the implementation of communication strategies and the distribution of news pertaining to the Government of Dubai. The GDMO maintains ties and coordinates between the Dubai Government and local and international centres.

This sacred institution was now looking to refurbish their flooring giving it a clean new look.

What was Mapei’s Role?

This project was challenged by its time limit. The client only allocated two months for the completion of the project, hence we needed to provide a fast track solution which included use of TOPCEM screed. Mapei Topcem is a hydraulic binder with quick-setting and controlled shrinkage, created particularly for rapid track design. Topcem is a hydraulic binding agent which may create mortars in roughly 24 hrs and dry in only 4 days when combined with graded aggregates and water. The material production and supply were planned and expeditiously scheduled based on the challenging site requirements.

Taking into account the legacy and culture of the United Arab Emirates, the textures and the colour of the system were planned. This was an important factor in choosing the ULTRATOP LOFT system. Due to its resistance to abrasion, Mapei Ultratop Loft is ideal for creating floors subjected to intense pedestrian traffic. The system's reliability convinced us into choosing it for this critical task.

In terms of application all stringent precautions were taken by using MAPENET 150 as part of this project. To complete the task smoothly and to deliver the project on schedule, the applicator received immense technical support from the team.
