Long-term partnerships in our plans
The plant in Tabuk, which has been operational since last summer, secures Mapei Saudia a strategic location in the area where the region's most futuristic projects are concentrated
Mapei has established a strong presence in Saudi Arabia, aligning with Vision 2030’s ambitious goals by offering advanced technologies and fostering sustainable construction practices. Key milestones include the opening of its manufacturing plant in Tabuk and opening a strategic office in Riyadh. Through investments in local talent and training initiatives, Mapei is committed to contributing to the Kingdom’s construction industry, sustainability goals, and economic growth.
Establishing Mapei’s presence within Saudi Arabia’s dynamic market has been both challenging and rewarding. Navigating local regulations, adapting to cultural nuances, and building a robust supply chain requires careful planning and execution. However, we view these challenges as opportunities for growth and learning, and we are proud to contribute to the ambitious goals of Vision 2030, which is transforming Saudi Arabia at an unprecedented pace.
After securing the necessary legal approvals, Mapei Saudia started to operate in 2022. In September of the same year, Mapei SpA, our parent company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Saudi Ministry of Investment (MISA). This agreement lays the groundwork for the localization of Mapei’s advanced technologies within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscoring our commitment to playing a vital role in the nation’s evolving construction landscape.
Strategic partnerships with local businesses, including both suppliers and clients, are essential to our integration into Saudi Arabia’s construction sector. We are investing in local talents and building relationships that enhance our adaptability and attendance to local demands.
We started by improving our local presence and increasing the availability of our products in the Kingdom by finalizing agreements for local warehousing and logistical services. The next step was to set up the local administrative and financial structure to start local invoicing, a significant step forward in localising our presence and improving our responsiveness to customer needs.
One of our significant milestones was the construction of Mapei Saudia’s first manufacturing plant for concrete admixtures in Tabuk, the closest production to the cutting-edge Neom region, where our offices are also located. This state-of-the-art facility became operational in the summer of 2024, positioning us strategically within one of the Kingdom’s most ambitious development zones. Thanks to this investment, which has given us the opportunity to produce locally, we are able not only to meet the demands of the Saudi market, but also to contribute to job creation and skills development of Saudi human resources.

Lastly, we are consolidating our presence in the capital Riyadh where we have recently opened a new office, strategically located in the Boulevard, on the north axis of the city, linking the airport to King Abdallah Financial District (KAFD) to Diriyah Gate: a presence in the capital that allows us to talk with the main public and private stakeholders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including companies and design studios, as well as being present with our technical staff on the many projects that cross the city.

Recruiting has been a key activity involving our regional and corporate functions to carefully select the best profiles who will be the founding pillars of Mapei in KSA. We have focused on professionals with experience in the industry but also on fostering the next generation of skilled Saudi professionals, in alignment with one of the Vision 2030 goals. Through various training initiatives, we ensure that our employees are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.

Investing in local talent is key to our long-term success, and we provide ongoing training and mentorship to empower our employees, promoting a culture of innovation and growth.
Mapei’s commitment to Saudi Arabia is long-term, and we are optimistic about our future in this rapidly expanding market. The construction industry in the Kingdom is booming, and we are well-positioned to capitalize on this growth. We have ambitious plans to expand our product portfolio and strengthen our distribution network.
Other key activities to strengthen the company’s position on the local market are to select talented employees and to implement training programmes
In line with our commitment to sustainability, Mapei Saudia is exploring ways to actively participate in initiatives that promote eco-friendly construction practices. By focusing on sustainable solutions, we aim to support Saudi Arabia’s green agenda, contributing to a future that prioritizes environmental stewardship alongside economic growth.
Mapei’s journey in Saudi Arabia has only just begun, but we have already laid a strong foundation for future growth.

ACI Concrete Conference
The 2023 ACI (American Concrete Institute) Concrete Conference 2023 held at the Hilton Hotel in Riyadh on 15th-16th November brought together local and international experts to discuss the latest regulations and best practices in the concrete industry. The event provided a platform for exploring the latest technological innovations and products for improving the performances and sustainability of concrete constructions. Those attending included several members of the Group's parent company Mapei SpA (Massimo Seregni and Alessandra Buoso), Mapei Saudia’s General Manager Mahmoud Al Jamal, together with the team headed by Hazem Kanan, Regional Director for Admixture & Grinding Aids. The presentation by Sven-Henrik Norman, Corporate Product Manager for the RE-CON Line, highlighted the contribution Mapei's products can make to the treatment of returned concrete, the reuse of waste concrete, and the cleaning of concrete mixer trucks.
Cement Academy
In a country like Saudi Arabia, where the building industry is constantly growing, it is essential to take advantage of the latest technological innovations in building materials. First and foremost cement, a vital element in the formulation of concrete that helps make constructions longer lasting and safer. Mapei Cement Academy organised two training events in Riyadh and Jeddah on 5th and 7th August respectively (see the photo below), which were attended by some of the most important local cement manufacturers. The speakers, including Matteo Magistri, R&D Manager in the Cement Additives Division, Hazem Kanan, Regional Director for Admixture & Grinding Aids, and Jaleel Mohamed, Technical Sales Manager of Mapei Construction Chemical (UAE), delved into a number of aspects concerning the technical properties and quality standards of high-performance cement. Among the topics addressed were the workability, hydration and optimisation of cement manufacturing processes, as well as the best practices and challenges involved in running cement-making plants.
